FACULTYThomas Heflin I am honored to be a pre-calculus and statistics instructor with the Governor’s School for Science and Technology mathematics team. A resident of the Harbour View community of Suffolk since 2000, I received a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from The Ohio State University, a Master of Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University, and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. My Undergraduate honors include Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Sigma Mu honorary societies. I have extensive industry experience as an engineer and manager in the centrifugal pump industry with specialization in corrosion resistant alloy technology and manufacturing quality assurance. As an Assistant Adjunct professor for Thomas Nelson Community College and Tidewater Community College, these classes have provided experience in teaching statistics, pre-calculus, and other mathematics since 1995.Wife, Gwen, is a Registered Nurse and she will be managing our new child daycare (The Learning Experience) in Newport News starting late 2010. |
