Mia Stephens is the Assistant Principal at The New Horizons Regional Education Center, Butler Farm Campus. She is a product of Northampton County Public Schools, located on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Virginia Union University’s Sydney Lewis School of Business and a Master of Education degree in Education Administration from Concordia University.

After several years of working in the corporate sector, Mrs. Stephens took her business expertise to secondary education. She served as a Career and Technical Education educator for Newport News Public Schools, for 22 years. During her tenure there she held multiple positions as teacher, cooperative education coordinator, lead teacher, and STEM magnet program administrator. She joined the New Horizons’ staff in the fall of 2020.

Mrs. Stephens believes, “Educators have a moral obligation to do their job well because there is no greater influence on the advancement of a society than the educating of its citizens.”
