ABOUT:

  • Students apply their knowledge of barbering skills in a clinical lab setting using mannequins and live models
  • Program emphasizes safety and sanitation, communication skills, and management
  • Competency completions prepare students for the Virginia state licensing exam

STUDENTS STUDY:
Examine all aspects of the barbering industry
Safety, sanitation, and disease control
Professionalism and ethics
Cutting hair
Styling hair
Lightening and color
Caring for skin, hands, and feet
Managing the shop

PREQUISITIES:
Students must have a minimum 10th grade reading level and completed English 10 and Biology with a grade of “C” or above.
