Bio:

I entered the field of nursing in 2010 after earning an Associate’s of Nursing degree in Southwest Va. I began working as a RN in the Emergency Department of a regional hospital in Tennessee. After several year in the Emergency Department, I began working as a charge nurse in the Cardiac Cath. Lab where I was able to further my critical care knowledge and specialize in cardiac nursing. I was fortunate throughout all of my years of nursing to also be employed as a school nurse for all levels of education. For six years, I served in NNPS as a school nurse at the elementary and middle school levels. During those years I was able to continue working part-time at Riverside Regional Medical Center and had the pleasure of providing direct patient care and maintain skills important to all nurses. I earned a Bachelor’s of Nursing degree in 2016 from King University. I officially made the transition to nursing education three years ago with NNPS where I taught Health Science courses and gained approval for a Nurse Aide certification course from the Virginia Board of Nursing. This summer I earned a Master of Nursing Education degree and am honored to have the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with students at NHREC in the nurse aide course.
