ABOUT:
- One-year program that provides students an in-depth exposure to the pharmaceutical industry
- Students will take the National Certification Exam, upon completion they will be qualified to register with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy to work in the state of Virginia
- Those in the industry on the Virginia Peninsula have identified Pharmacy Technician as their number one are of employment need
- Job growth for pharmacy technicians will be twice the average for all occupations in Virginia
STUDENT STUDY:
Preparing and dispensing prescriptions
Compounding medications
Preparing intravenous medications
Stocking medications
Repackaging medications
Communication and customer service skills
Brand and Generic medications schedules and classifications
PREREQUISITES:
Seniors Only Completion of Algebra I and English 10 with a grade of “B” or above
CAMPUS LOCATION: Woodside Lane, Newport News
SESSIONS: A.M and P.M
CLASS SIZE: 20 per Session
CREDENTIALS: ExCPT National Certification Exam
